Wildlife Ecology Lab

Welcome!  This site is meant to provide information regarding the Wildlife Ecology Laboratory at Tennessee State University. As you’ll see throughout the webpage, our research focuses on wildlife ecology primarily in the context of a changing environment. Students work on a wide variety of research topics that are important for conserving and managing wildlife populations, including habitat modeling, environmental DNA analysis, landuse change, and climate change. Students are encouraged to develop his/her own research questions and are mentored to progress and improve as a scientist. Students are encouraged to pursue external funding, participate in other research opportunities, and to publish research early and often. We are always looking for potential collaborators and qualified graduate students. If you have any questions, please feel free to send an email to wsutton@tnstate.edu.
